I purchased a used Kia from Kia west in 2015. Having had a fantastic experience the first time, I returned recently to buy a new Kia. For a 2017 Kia Rio (4 door) we were quoted $149 biweekly which just fit in my budget of $150 biweekly. We were informed that the car would be ordered in as they did not have the model in stock and that he would call to let us know when it would arrive. However, when he called, he let us know that there was a problem with the order as "there were no hatchbacks available, only 4 doors". 2 days prior, me and him had an entire conversation about how it was perfect that there were no hatchbacks available as I disliked hatchbacks and was only interested in the 4 door models. Luckily no hatchbacks were available as I would have been ordered the wrong car. I was also originally told I could choose between white, grey or black. I chose black. When we showed up to view the car, it was grey. After viewing it we met with finance. We were then basically told (from what I understood) that in order to keep our car in good condition we need to pay $179 biweekly. We told her this was not possible and were eventually offered a deal for $156 biweekly that basically just added the necessities. I understand that this was my choice and I could have turned it down but I eventually agreed to this as it was only $6 over my budget and it would protect my car in the long run. When we came back for our next appointment we sat down to sign all the paperwork. After going through the final price break down I asked to confirm that its still $156 biweekly. At this point I was then told that actually it was going to be $159 biweekly. Once again, I do not mind that this was the price, 9$ will not break me. What I do mind is 1) that I was not told that the price would change or else I would have said no to the car and kept shopping and 2) that they werent even going to tell me. If I had not asked, I am confident that I would not have found out that my payments had changed until the first time they were withdrawn from my bank account. I should also mention that they had all of the bank documents and (legal) agreements filled out as "Mary". My name is Megan. The fiancé person also forgot to get my pay stubs the first time around. Finally, I came in to speak to a manager in the first week of June as on top of everything else, my new cars NVIS had been lost by the dealership. I then came back two weeks after that because 1)I had yet to hear from a manager and 2) my bank account had been charged for my old car and my new car payment (I was never informed of this being the case). I then emailed our salesman on June 27th because despite asking him if a spare tire was included and him saying yes, there was no tire when we went to check (apparently they dont come with spare tires anymore so Im not sure why we were told yes). He assured me he would speak to a manager to see what he could do. It is now July 28th and I have yet to hear from a manager on any issue. I understand that a lot of people have had fantastic experiences here. I was one of them when I bought my first used car from them two year ago. This time I did not have the same experience.

I bought a previously used Kia Rondo 2008 In Feburary 2013. Had it 2 days and it wouldnt start. Had it towed back to the dealership (from out of town) and they replaced the battery. This winter I noticed that it was having issues starting again. Got the block heater cord tested and it wasnt working. So I waited to get it fixed as I found out about the cord later in the winter. Today I took in my KIA to the West Edmonton KIA dealership(where I purchased it from) to have the block heater looked at as well as one of my doors that wouldnt open. While dropping it off I was told my vehicle was due for some tune ups.... over $1000 in tune ups!! I said that I didnt have the money for that right now and I would just get the things I booked it in for fixed. Later they called telling me it would be $326.25 for the door and $117.90 for the block heater cord. I told them to go ahead and do the repairs. They called me again 30 minutes later to let me know the whole block heater was not working and that it would be $320 extra to fix! So I asked they just fix the door as that was all I could afford at this time. Final bill for this visit was $417.12...... Strange though because the first total they gave me with the block heater cord being fixed was $466.36. When I inquired as to why the price for the door increased they told me that there were some parts charges that I was previously not told about... Horrible service!! I will never buy a KIA again and have told everyone I know not to buy one; especially from this dealership!!

Its unfortunate there are some negative reviews about this dealership. We and our friends have only had the opposite experience going here. The first time we went to Kia, we had been visiting dealerships all day and most were what we had expected, salesmen that were a little pushy as it was end of the month. The worst experience was at a certain European car dealer, we were literally followed out the door to make a sale. But when we arrived at Kia, admittedly we waited a while at first, they were busy, but he best part was their salesman Scott, who had the day off to move from his house and was only there to stop by, took the time to take us for two test drives. Didnt feel rushed, no pressure, was very knowledgeable and honest. It was like an oasis that day. A few months later we came and decided we wanted the Sorento. Scott was very helpful in deciding the best financing for us, not the dealer, and was honest about the whole. Never felt pressure, never felt rushed as if we were in some radio ad, "we gotta sell these cars or else..you wont see deals like this again..blah blah..". We were also picky on the colour and few other features and we werent pressured to consider other vehicles they had on the lot, like we had felt at other dealerships. Now we are looking forward to picking up our Sorento sometime this week. We had heard from friends good things about Scott and the service they had from here, and now we would definitely recommend our friends to give Kia a visit.

Hi Kris, I just thought I would take a moment to say a million thanks for how fun and easy it was for us to purchase two new KIAs from your KIA West Edmonton Dealership! You should know that we were in your building a month ago and were treated well by some of your staff who provided us with SOUL and Optima brochures. It is no surprise that we came back when ready to purchase and it was fun to do so right in the middle of your Halloween sale. We left (after talking to Alex and yourself) with a few pumpkins, some more info and a smile at how fun you had made your promotion that day! Thank you personally Kris for making the auto purchase process informative and simple. We were shown all purchase options from a cash deal to financing and leasing and it was easy for us to see which one best met our financial needs. Heidi chose a cash purchase of her SOUL and is utterly delighted with the vehicle! As you know, a financing option worked better for me and like her; I am thrilled with the feel and performance of my new Optima! We liked the way Alex knowledgeably and efficiently handled everything to do with the sale of the vehicles and also the way that Jody streamlined the finance aspect of the purchase. We will definitely recommend your dealership and your people to anyone we know that might be considering an auto purchase in the near future. Please take a moment to let all of your people know how pleased we were with their fun handling of our purchase! Mitch
