THIS TIRE SHOP IS THE BEST IN TOWN!!! I was looking for some tires on 16 Sep 14, and I called almost all local tire shops but Im glad I called Central Tire because they are just PERFECT!!! I spoke with Kirsten (sp) on the phone and she was just a professional and a pleasant person to talk to. She quoted me with the lowest price in town on the first call. Although she had to return my call after a few minutes because they are busy, it was actually a good thing since I got the best price in town ($15 lower than the next competitor). I had the tires ordered and I was set up for an appointment at 12:00 noon and on 11:03 AM, I received a call stating that my tires had arrived and that they are ready to be mounted as soon as I show up. I arrived at 11:45 AM and although it was tough for me to find a parking spot since they are located dead smack down town and they already had a bunch of cars ahead of me, I managed to find one near the gas station area. As soon as I walked in their lobby I noticed how organized and clean their lobby was and I was happily greeted by Kirsten with a great big smile and she was enthusiastically willing to help. As soon as I arrived, I was surprised that the van was next in line. She then informed me that it will be done in approximately 40 minutes. She also asked me if theres anything else she could help me with while I waited. I was up for a cup of coffee and she gladly gave me directions to the starbucks by Jasper Avenue and 109 Street which is only a 5 minute walk. Then 30 minutes later I returned back to the shop and we had a small talk about Edmonton etc etc and then the mechanic came in the lobby and notified me that the valve caps was subpar as it did not have seals to protect the TPMS. I gladly thank the mechanic and he proceeded back to back of the shop. I am mechanically inclined and went through auto tech schools and I missed that part, I was amazed the attention to detail that mechanic had (sorry I forgot his name) So before the 40 minutes was up, the van is ready to go and its time to pay the bills. I was quoted $335 for both tires and I actually paid a little under that. The valve covers was also FREE of CHARGE!!! and the best part is, when I checked the tires I noticed they even sprayed my tires with TIRE SHINE!!! are you kidding me?! which other tire shops does that?!!! lol thats just awesome!!! Overall, I actually expected to wait for a while since this place in my OPINION was WAAAYYY above other tire shops around town as far as prices, customer service and location and Im sure they have a lot of repeat customers, but I actually got in and out of there pretty fast. They just earned my business, my family and friends business for life. There may be times that you will have to wait, but TRUST ME, the WAIT IS WORTH the service and reliability you will get in return...

I have been to Central Tire many times for a multitude of work from Tires to troubleshooting an electrical issue. I typically ask for Ted Wright, as he has frequently taken the time to explain (in laymans terms) issues to me so that I am able to understand what is going on. The staff is always friendly, and on more than a few occasions - they have identified an issue, rectified it quickly - saving me both time and money. A quick example - I had made the mistake of taking my truck in to two different shop locations of a company whose name rhymes with Pal-Tire due to location. I went in with specific instructions to check some commonly known items that could be causing the issues (plug wires, etc). Both times I had to follow up with them, as I got no call, and they did work that had nothing to do with my original issues (nor did it fix the problem……) I was able to get squeezed in to Central Tire to see Ted, who not only took the time to call with an explanation of the required work - but went through the items step by step and made sure that I was comfortable with the work required, the reasons why it was required, and the costs associated with it. Ted has me back on the road that same day. These are honest, hard working mechanics who care about their clients and are definitely committed to their trade. I highly recommend going to see Ted at Central Tire to anyone who asks - Ill be a customer for life.

Went in to get my ball joints replaced. Was quoted $400 at another shop. This place said that in my car (2003 Acura RSX) it was too difficult to replace the ball joints alone and they would have to replace the control arms as well. They quoted me over a thousand dollars for the work. I bought the ball joints myself, watched a youtube video and borrowed a tool from parts zone and did them in an afternoon at a cost of $150. Stay away from this den of thieves. (To the owners response) -- The tech told me that the ball joints could not be replaced because my control arms were made of aluminum and by pushing a new ball joint into them, they would be destroyed. In the Acura type-s, the control arms are aluminum, in the base they are not. I have the base (and the car was up on the hoist. If the tech cant tell the difference between steel and aluminum, then Id say that you are placing my life and those around me in danger as well) If there was corrosion on the control arms, the tech would hopefully realize that it was not made of aluminum, but who knows. Replacing the control arms would probably have taken less shop time than the ball joints and the parts were more expensive ($450 each rather than about $50) -- more profit to the shop to simply say that the ball joints cant be replaced. I replaced them in September and have had no problems since.

They were very happy to move my car to the front of the queue for a "diagnostic test" and charged me $148 when i had already indicated I did not need this done, as i had already done a test a couple weeks prior to that. They insisted, saying other problems may have developed since then. After detecting what was supposedly wrong (which I already knew about), they printed off an estimate of roughly $340 for repairs on the damaged part, including labor. At that point, they declined to schedule an actual appointment for my car, and told me to bring it in the morning around 7 am which i did DAILY for a STRAIGHT WEEK!!! Yet no one would attend to my car.. I guess they prioritize the big money repairs over anything else. Its clear all they care about is money. The mechanic though was really nice and very willing to help and seemed really knowledgeable about what was going on with my car, but the front desk people certainly did not want my business. Why not just tell me straight to my face? I took the car to another garage and had it fixed and the other garage owner was SHOCKED i was actually charged $148 for a test diagnostic!
