You might think youre saving money, but the shoddy work youll get here will surely cost you. I have a lot more to say about Sam and his shop, but Im going to Banff right now. You see, I was driving towards Red Deer and noticed a burning smell coming from my car. I managed to stop at a gas station and checked my oil to find that it all my oil was gone! I added 3 liters and took it to Mobil 1 by Highway 2 and the guy right away saw that my filter was loose and the car had drained the oil. This my friends, was the work of Sam and Argyll Auto Works. I made the mistake of referring my dad here since its cheaper and I hadnt had issues when I referred him. Theres another awful story of rudeness and broken promises by Sam. But as I said, Im on my way to Banff and this will have to wait. *Update*: Alright, its time to include the story of my dad. You see, my dad needed an alignment, a controller arm, and gasket replaced. I called Argyll Auto Works and got a quote that and clearly asked if the alignment was included. They said, yes the alignment was included. My dad went and left the car there and after all was said and not, he noticed that no work had been done on the alignment. He went back and talked with Sam at which point Sam became extremely rude and started denying that the quote included an alignment. Furthermore, he called my dad "stupid". There you have it, calling your customer stupid for something which you quoted. To top it off, after the repair was done, my dad noticed a leak in his car and took it back. They did fix it free of charged but it continued to leak once again... Anyway, I think this summarized mine and my dads experience with Argyll Auto Works. If you happen to value your money and your time, find a better shop.

For the past three years I have been maintaining my car in Argyll Auto Works. I have had the following work done on my Hyundai Santa Fe: Timer belt replacement, water pump replacement, shocks, top cylinder gasket replacement, crank seal replacement, alternator replacement and oil changes. All inspection and estimates were done free of charge. Oil changes are done with free inspections. During a routine oil change, it was identified that I had a loose lower arm joint which I repaired immediately because I was travelling the next day to Calgary, thus a life was safe because I could have had an accident on the highway if that wasnt noticed. I believe the cost for the service is good and not as expensive as other shops were you cannot even see how the work is taking place on your vehicle. In this garage you are free to see the work being done on your vehicle; all you need to have are your safety gears to be present inside the garage. There is a waiting room upstairs with password to connect to the internet. There is always a give and take in every shop but in a nut shell the advantages for me going to Argyll Auto Works surpasses the disadvantages and to conclude I will recommend people I know to have their cars maintained in this garage.

Im an engineer and Im writing this to my fellows and anyone consider going to this shop. This shop supposed to fix my car so that I go on a road and move to BC. There was a really bad noise coming from the rear and they said its my shocks. They installed the so-called life-time warranty shocks and said go to go. And I got to BC and shocks broken quickly. I went to another shop in BC and I end up paying again for the same service and my car is still not fixed to the day. Later they were BSing me that they recommended me to sell the car. So let me get this, you fixed my car and charged me so that I sell the car. This is to me irresponsibility and unreliable business. Ive been their customer for a while, for oil change and regular maintenance. But I guess its only a matter of time where you get that cheap substandard service which costs you forever. I dont recommended this shop for anyone. I cant trust them anymore and Im sorry I referred them to friends.

I have come to Argyll Auto for everything that I need done with my vehicle since 2013. Bumper replacement, oil changes, brakes, water pump, all the issues that have come up driving my vehicle. I have never had any trouble with their work and what they charge is much better than most places, always very fair. My sister and dad have been coming here longer than I have and have always had good experiences too. I dont know what is going on with some of these reviews saying they got ripped off. I cant see it happening here. I feel lucky to have found this place because they give an honest deal. It is crazy what the shops I tried before I found this place quoted me, by coming here I avoided getting ripped off . Sam is very reasonable, sees what is wrong, discusses the issue and how to fix it and then does it without trying to make it as expensive as possible so I recommend his shop.

Sam(manager) is a very honest guy, professional and great person, I will definitely like to do business with him in the future but his wife(Receptionist) is rude and also wants you to pay top dollar for everything. She disvalues Customer service and insults you in your face..She lacks works ethics and does not care as to how a customer feels..I like agyll works but only go there when the receptionist is not around as you will get horrible service and pay top dollar for a bad work..She only cares about money money money money..She is the complete opposite of Sam..They will never call you back when they promise to do so, you will be in a quote forever....I will not be going back there anymore because they lack customer service and do not appreciate Customers in anywhere..if you have a choice, I will advise dont go there..

Very bad experience! had my block heater installed . its a subaru genuine part it even came with installation instructions plus PICTURES on where to run the wire. didnt follow it for some weird reason! can they even know how to read!!!? the installation kit came with wire clips already on the wire , but then they just settled with tie straps! 1 strap was even tied to the radiator hose! and my plug is dangling all over the bumper and surely it can damage the paint! and then this guy sam even told me that if they have 2 hours to do it then they can do it! WTF! I EVEN BOOKED MY APPOINTMENT 4 DAYS PRIOR! DONT GO THERE! DONT EVEN TRY! THEY CANT EVEN FOLLOW SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS EVEN IF THEY ARE PROVIDED WITH PICTURES ON HOW TO DO IT! MY RATING? NEGATIVE!!!!!

The owner and mechanic Sam is a very good, honest and friendly person. I am getting service from him since last 8 years. He has great ability to solve problems with car. I came to know about him from a friend when I first arrived to Edmonton from Texas, USA. Initially I needed help for the out of province inspection and latter with few more problems such as radiator. With his help I got everything fixed. I always talk to him before doing any service for my vehicle Honda Accord LX. He is very honest about estimation. I also received some small free services from him such as electrical issues, wipers etc. I am happy referring him to my fellow community members with confidence.
