SHORT VERSION This was my first time renting at Avis North Hill. They billed me for 3 days rental when I only had the car for 2 days. They admitted to the mistake but made it quite a hassle for me to get it rectified. I definitely got the impression that they were trying to profit from the situation instead of actually trying to gain my trust as a customer. LONG VERSION Rezaul rented me a nice vehicle at a "reduced" daily rate for the weekend. He gave me a rental form which included charges for 3 days rental. However this was done with the understanding that if I returned the car earlier (2 days) the total charge would be adjusted to reflect that. I did make it pretty clear that I had no interest in keeping the car for longer than 2 days, but Rezaul said it might be nice to have it reserved for 3 days just in case. I rushed to return the car at under the 2-day mark. When Amir gave me a summary of the final charges, I was pretty surprised at how high it was. I asked him about it and he said it was because of extras like "GST and Insurance". I decided to trust them and left it at that. When I checked the final bill afterwards I realized that the reason for the extraordinarily high charge was because Amir had charged me for 3 days rental even though I only had the car for 2 days. I called him about it and he said that it was "due to the way in which I reserved the vehicle" and that he would "remember to give me credit for my next rental" with nothing actually in writing. I told him it was unacceptable to bill me for time that I did not use, so he said he would "call back after making some changes on the computer", which he never did. We returned to his establishment shortly after and wasted 40 minutes of our time getting him to reluctantly correct the bill to reflect the actual agreed upon amount. It seemed that he made the corrections to the charges only when other customers starting coming in to the store, in full earshot of our discussion with Amir. Im still waiting to see what the actual charge will be on my credit card, but Ive already lost a great deal of trust and respect in this establishment. Its one thing to make an honest mistake... another thing entirely to knowingly make an effort to profit from it afterwards even when youve already been caught red handed. You dont get repeat business by giving a loose verbal promise of "credit on my next rental" after overcharging me, especially as a first time customer.

I rented out Full Size SUV (8 seater - Ford) with Patrick (Prakash) at AVIS North Hill Shopping Center and I must say the service provided by this guy was immaculate! He communication to me and other clients were excellent and answered all my questions before I booked the SUV over the phone. He even had time to talk to his supervisor when the answer especially about the insurance was not clear and he got back to me after five minutes with all the answers I need. The vehicle was in good conditions and did not take more than 20 min. to do paperwork in the morning and I was basically on the road within half an hour. I really had a good time with the AVIS Rental company and thanks to Patrick (Prakash), he made my life and my family road trip to San Francisco (California) a memorable on! I would highly recommend the AVIS company and Mr. Patrick (Prakash) to be my next agent to serve me in future. Thank you Patrick (Prakash) for your wonderful service.

I reserved a full size car but I have recieved standard car instead and got offer getting SUV instead for 20$ more for 2 days. I got the car cover in snow and ice and had to clean it myself for half an hour. After bringing the car back, i got there late for 1 hour 20 minutes. He said i need to be charged for one full day. and after some debate he agreed to give me charge hourly base. I got the bill and came back home and saw he charged hourly for the car but for other charges (license charge and fuel tax) he charged me for full 3 days. I think honesty is important and didnt get that in this branch. I had different experience with other companies and they would be more fair if you get there late a bit and usually you recieve better cars. Totally i got charge 78.5 $ instead of 65$ for only 1 hour late return.

I prepaid for a full-size sedan for two days. When I arrived at the location I was offered a compact car for the price I had paid, or an SUV for $20 extra, but not the car I had already paid for nor a similar model! The sales people were very pushy and rude and tried to tac on just about every extra charge they could. When I denied their LDW coverage (stating I had coverage already) the man pestered me about how much my was deductable (clearly trying to up-sell me on the insurance). This has been my third time renting here but this is my first real negative experience. The previous staff Ive had contact with have always been friendly and professional; I have only one work for the two men working there on Saturday March 1: sleazy!

All I can say, is LIFE SAVER. Amirul at AVIS on14th Street is a true professional and saved us on Sunday, when another car company screwed us over. He is a kind and polite gentleman that provided above average customer service. He was compassionate about our story and actually upgraded us to a premium car. Im an Avis Preferred Plus member and although there is a corporate location much closer to where I live, I will only rent from this location. I rent a vehicle practically every week - and occasionally for weeks at a time - and Rezaul & crew never fail to take care of me. They go above and beyond, and for that Im very appreciative. Never a hassle, unlike 9th Avenue. Thanks guys, and see you next week!

The gentlemen that run this location are fantastic. Not only did they upgrade my rental when they found out I was doing a long distance trip so that I was more comfortable they also trusted me when I returned the vehicle with a scratch on the front that I hadnt noted when starting my rental as it didnt seem like major damage and I was in a hurry.

The best place to rent cars. These guys are very good with making sure their customers receive the best service. Many times Ive gone there and they have accommodated me with upgrades because they are happy to see a repeat customer. Sometimes they can get busy with customers. but you are always acknowledge. Great guys.

Good service overall, but I got charged $600 because I was under 25yrs old, and $150 to return the car to a different location, I think it is a little bit excessive
