Never experienced such bad service in my entire life before, only thing worst I have seen in germany: A Dude was waiting 2 hours in a hospital with a broken leg to get fixed. Its kinda sad that I have to compare this to the Car Rentalservice in Banff. Let me tell you about my ,,journey" with Budget Car Rental in Banff: The first time I rented a Car for September 3rd (my Birthday) to drive with some friends to Calgary. I made a online reservation on the HP of Budget, they even send me an reminder a day before, but when I got there the employee told me he doesnt have any cars. Even after showing him my reservation he repeated: "I dont have any cars" weaved with his arms around and ignored my for 10 minutes, chatting with whocaress on his phone. So thanks for letting me and my friends down on that day. "Alright, see ya in hell." Was all I thought. Lets skip some weeks to October 19 2016: Me and my girlfriend made a reservation in persona, 1 week before. So I went yesterday there, and the same dude who made our reservation tells me he dont know who i am & I can be lucky that he have 1 car left. Just for the fun-factor I telling you guys I had a really bad day at work before, so all I thought in this Moment was: "Senior, you can be lucky that we are not in america, otherwise I would paint the wall behind you red, If you know what I mean" ;) So after we did the whole paperstuff again.... he went checking on the car. Best thing, the right back tire was missing some air, so I had to drive to a Gasstation and do it by myself. Alright, at least a car I though. He was even so kind to let me pay in cash, the next day. (today). So I went there today, to pay my dept. Fun-Fact 2: I got a really bad fever, so they even send me home from work today, I almost could not stand anymore on my feet. So after a nap, getting some energy I forced my self to the budget frontdesk just to see a sign: "serving customers right now, be right back in 10 min" so I waited again, no one came. I even checked the Place where the cars are, no one there to. End of The Story So my question to you, Budget people is: is just me with my bad luck? or are you just hiring total morons for your service positions? Honestly, for this Service you even deserve minus-stars. Or better, a real star, that implodes an becomes an black hole. I know my english is not the best, but way better than your service. Seriously I think you could just put trained chipmunks on the frontdesk in cascade mall, wouldnt be a big difference.

Dont waste your time. After two online reservations as well as doing my due diligence checking physically, in person. No dice. The first time I waited over 6 hours to collect my rental, leaving my confirmation and phone number for the guy (So he would know i didnt want a new reservation [trying to make his life easier!]). After repeat visits within the 6 hours and a "Ill call you in 10 mins" from him, I came back to a closed store, hed gone home. $280 spent and no car...... Second time round, again reserve online AND check in person so they can arrange what they need (should there be any dislocation between online & in person systems). Lo and behold after waiting 45mins by the "Back in 10" sign, i was greeted with "Sorry we have no cars". A waste of my time on both counts as well as the fuss of paying ($400+) despite being refunded. Budget has failed on both these occasions, sad that the brand has been let down by the Banff franchise. Being a 5 year Local to Banff I have never experienced such bad customer service, nor trouble with a car rental. Furthermore, such a weak "offer of compensation" of $20 off my next rental, no not per hour, $20 total. (Insurance for 1 day is $40) As summarised above. Dont waste your time.

I rented a car and the rental itself went smooth. I paid credit and signed the agreement for the price. Next thing I know Ive been charged an additional $100 for a "drop" fee that was never in the agreement, and they knew where I was picking up and dropping off the vehicle prior to me signing. I called and told them, and they had admitted that they were not supposed to charge it and they were going to refund my $100. 1 week passed and no refund so I call to see what is happening, they tell me it takes 5-10 business days, so that is fine and I leave it to wait. That brings us to today, 10 weeks later, where I have called in excess of 30 times up to this point, all of which result in them either not answering the phone or saying yes we owe you the money and it will get refunded. I am so tired of this crap from them as I do not see my money, and I will never rent another car from budget and will be telling all my friends and family when they are renting to do the same! Ridiculous...

My Friend and I rented a car from a man named Ramil from Banff Budget in December, we got pushed off the road by a snow plough and long story short we had to get towed. We were told we had snow tires and insurance when paying for the car for the day, to only find out from the tow truck company that they were not snow tires and that they didnt give us insurance. $600 later we have been trying to get our money back from their insurance company (as that is what we were told would happen from Ramil from the Banff Budget), however after 10+ emails sent and almost 4 months later we have not received a single reply from him. DO NOT HIRE FROM THIS COMPANY, dont waste your money or your time. Worst customer service in the entire world.

Wow. Just checked my bill to see why I was charged $120.00 extra. I forgot to fill the tank, there wouldnt have been less than 3/4 of the tank left, I remembered late the evening after I dropped it off that I forgot to top it up when I got back to banff but had unfortunately dropped off my keys already. I thought there would be an extra charge, maybe a jacked fuel price, but this?! Absolute robbery.

I rent a car from this budget roughly once a month. Romil is fantastic to deal with - incredibly friendly and helpful despite being often very busy. As long as I enter all my specific requests i.e winter tires in winter months, everything is just as I ask.

No debit, no prepaid credit cards, 1 unknowledgable person on staff. This place makes it as hard as possible to rent a vehicle. Rent from anywhere but here.
